Manteco is the winner of 'THE CLIMATE ACTION AWARD' at Sustainable Fashion Awards 2023
The 2023 SustainableFashionAwards ceremony took place during the Milan Fashion Week, and it was held at Teatro alla Scala. This event was collaboratively organized with backing from the Ethical Fashion Initiative, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and Comune di Milano.
The Climate Action Award is dedicated to fashion brands, suppliers, and organisations that have developed solutions to reduce the sector’s greenhouse gas emissions.
We have created our own, science-based, branded wools that ensure high quality and durability, with much lower environmental impacts. ReviWool®, the low-impact virgin wool, and MWool®, the next generation of recycled wool. Compared to virgin wool tops and generic virgin wool, respectively, ReviWool® and MWool® generate 65.6% and 99.2% fewer CO2-eq emissions respectively, while also using significantly less water and energy. In 2022, Manteco® demonstrated that using recycled content in half of their total fabric production (more than 1,500 tons MWool® fibres) could achieve significant emissions reductions. Specifically, this has led to a saving of 118,554 tons of CO2 -eq.
