A space where innovation and heritage intertwine, inspiring new perspectives
Casa Manteco is a space for connection and storytelling, conceived to share the values and principles that guide the company. Here, past and future meet in conversation: Manteco opens the doors to its family and manufacturing legacy, demonstrating how innovation can flourish while remaining true to its founding values and its deep connection to the local territory.
Under one roof, it weaves together a range of distinct spaces, the Galleria, the Sala Tessuti, the Archivio, the Studio, the Circularity Lab and the Giardino, with the vision of offering visitors an authentic and immersive journey, welcoming them as guests into its home.
Casa Manteco creates connections, encourages dialogue, and nurtures a conscious community, capable of recognizing the value of craftsmanship, research, and responsible innovation.
At the heart of Casa Manteco lies the Giardino, a welcoming oasis designed to offer a shared experience of relaxation. It is a place to pause, exchange ideas, and experience the Manteco community, always immersed in culture and beauty.
The plants in this Giardino were chosen with the intention of bringing an authentic piece of the surrounding territory into the company. The selection includes native Tuscan species from the Mediterranean scrub and its hills, capable of thriving in harmony with the local climate and soil. Strawberry tree, mastic, myrtle, rosemary, and thyme do not merely form a green ensemble: they recreate a familiar language of aromas, colors, and landscapes, while simultaneously contributing to a natural balance among the different species, where each element supports the well-being of the others, shaping a harmonious system that takes care of itself. The result is a place that speaks of roots, identity, and the deep connection between Casa Manteco and Tuscany, a space able to integrate into the industrial context.
Galleria Manteco was created to give tangible form to the company’s family heritage, its manufacturing tradition, and the innovations that have shaped its journey since 1943, when Enzo Anacleto Mantellassi laid the foundations of the company. It is a space dedicated to the story of a family-run enterprise that, across three generations, has successfully combined craftsmanship, quality, innovation, and environmental responsibility, turning local expertise into an internationally recognised industrial model.
The Galleria offers a different way to experience a corporate museum. It is organised into non-linear sections that allow visitors to explore freely and at their own pace: the value of family, the origins of Prato’s textile district, Manteco’s scientific approach to circularity and sustainability, and the process of wool valorisation.
The exhibits range from archival documents and production tools to historic photographs, films, internal testimonies, and conversations about research projects with academics and institutions. Together, these elements create a layered and multifaceted narrative that explains how Prato’s textile tradition has evolved through Manteco’s know-how into a contemporary language built on innovation and a strong commitment to responsibility.
The Sala Tessuti is conceived as a space that welcomes visitors and guides them through the discovery of the collections, in an environment where time seems to slow down, leaving room for sensory awareness.
Much more than a showroom, it is a true sanctuary of textiles, thoughtfully designed in every detail. Here, light gently grazes the surfaces of the fabrics, enhancing their beauty, texture, and infinite chromatic nuances.
Within this setting, designers and clients can establish a deeper connection with the material, fostering creative dialogue and the development of new design synergies.
The Archivio is the tangible expression of Manteco’s history and represents the company’s cultural contribution to the world of fashion.
Opened in 2018, it was created through the restoration of a former spinning mill, a remarkable example of industrial archaeology, now transformed into a space defined by a distinctive design, conceived to make research and consultation simple and intuitive.
It houses and displays Manteco’s entire heritage, with over 100,000 fabric samples dating from 1943 to the present day, serving as an endless source of inspiration for clients, designers, and the internal creative team.
Alongside this physical collection, a digital archive enables clients and creatives to explore the collections quickly and in depth.
Studio Manteco is the place where textile visions are woven into reality. Among sketches, research, colour palettes and prototypes, it is a hub of experimentation and creativity, where innovation is not a single moment but an ongoing method.
This is where Manteco’s most iconic fabrics were born and where the collections of tomorrow are designed.
Entering the Circularity Lab means stepping into the heart of the company’s research and savoir-faire.
It is a space where visitors can take a closer look at Manteco’s journey of circular excellence at every stage, through production methods, advanced machinery, and artisanal expertise. A true hub of innovation, the lab is where the iconic Manteco MWool® and ReviWool® are brought to life, and where Recype® is presented, the innovative mechanical process that creates thousands of colours by blending fibres, without the use of additional dyes or chemicals.
The reclaimed materials from Zero-Waste and Project 43 initiatives are also showcased here, offering tangible proof of a responsible and circular approach to production. The Circularity Lab is also a centre for analysis and research, where raw materials and yarns are scientifically examined to test their properties and ensure the highest quality and durability standards in fabric production. It is a place where human expertise and technological innovation come together, generating a unique and powerful synergy.
