Durability and circularity have always shaped our corporate DNA. We’ve always aimed at creating an unfailing fabric that could perfectly mix the pillars of circular economy: the use of recycled materials, extreme durability and recyclability. Our goal was to create a textile material that is cut and sewn to create phisically and emotionally durable garments, which are bound to be worn and loved, handed down to future generations, or easily recycled.

NEVER-ENDING FABRICS, DESIGNED TO LAST AND TO BE HANDED DOWN
Our Goal #1 was creating upstyled, performing fabrics for trusted and high-end garments. Durability is the ability of a physical product to remain functional and relevant over time when faced with the challenges of normal operation, damage and wear. In order to be sure that VITA fabrics fully embraced this concept, we have created a unique performance standard with the most demanding and extreme quality tests that these materials must always pass. We took inspiration from, mixed and went beyond the strictest international performance standards, which have high requirements in terms of pilling, abrasion resistance, tensile strenght.

TRULY CIRCULAR, IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY
Our Goal #2 was creating fabrics that incorporate all circular economy’s principles: the use of recycled input materials, design for durability and recyclability. Manteco has championed and invested on wool circular economy since the 1940s and VITA is an unprecedented outcome. Strongly following the circular economy principles, we wanted to make sure that these products are made with regenerated input materials, used more, designed to be recycled. In fact, VITA fabrics are exclusively made with MWool®, the next generation of recycled wool by Manteco, and their colors are solely obtained through Recype® process, which makes no use of added dyes and chemicals. These materials are designed and manufactured to last, but also to be recycled at the end of their life cycle.

EMOTIONALLY DURABLE, DESIGNED TO BE WORN AND LOVED, OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Our Goal #3 was creating fabrics that foster emotional durability, by trasceding fashion trends and making people desire to use them forever. Physical durability does not make sense if people lack the desire to keep an object for a long time. We have designed this collection by bearing this concept in mind. All these materials – from the choice of weaves and structures to the design – were developed to transcend fashion trends, to withstand the passing of time, and to become more beautiful with a repeated use. All of this to enhance the relationship between people and their goods.

When we created our unique performance standard for VITA fabrics, we chose and go to the extremels of numerous, demanding quality tests, which belong to different industries and are calibrated on various final uses.
